Frequent dedicated Service 98 to the Show from central Edinburgh, run by Lothian Buses for the duration of the event. Buses will pick up from George Street (east end - outside The Dome), Shandwick Place (stop SD), Haymarket Station (stop HH) then all service 31 stops en-route to the Show ground. From the west, and Glasgow
Service buses operated by FirstGroup, CityLink and others, will stop outside our South Entrance on the A8. Try the Traveline Scotlnad journey planner for times. For return journeys, Police Scotland will control traffic lights to assist passengers crossing the A8.
From the north, Inverkeithing mainline train station, Halbeath or Ferrytoll park & ride
Stagecoach Jet747 bus service from Fife to Edinburgh Airport passes by the showground with scheduled journey time of just 25 minutes. Alight at the bus stop by Ingliston Road where there is a pedestrian entrance allowing the quickest access to the Show. Return can be from the same bus stop as it circles by the airport before returning to Ferrytoll Park and Ride and Inverkeithing Rail Station. For return journeys, Police Scotland will control traffic lights to assist passengers crossing the A8.
Directions to the Show are given on AA signs on all major approaches. Parking costs £8 per day. Drivers should not use SatNav on the approaches to the Royal Highland Show but follow the AA signs to the RHS Please be aware that due to the high volume of traffic, there may be some delays. Disabled Car Parking is only for those displaying a regulatory Blue Disabled Badge on approaches to the showground. As the West Car Park starts to fill, a shuttle service takes show visitors up to/from the West Entrance.
Over 150 flights connect Edinburgh to the rest of the UK and Europe each day and with the Showground just a ten-minute walk from the airport – flying is indeed a quick and convenient way to visit the show. Log on to http://travel.edinburghairport.com
The nearest train stations are Edinburgh Park, South Gyle, Edinburgh Haymarket, or Waverley Station. Please use journey planner for times and pick up points for connections to the Showground
